Balancing act

What's the best way to keep everyone happy?
This morning went fairly well. Everyone behaved on our shopping errand, and everyone came home happy. Of course, we had a short list, and we had snacks right when we came home. Mostly, though it's a matter of the parents' flexibility, not the kids', and knowing the parents' limits, not the kids'. The more open and adaptable, the better the day will be. That's proved a tough lesson for me to learn.

  1. Get a book to read to Rob that will capture your imagination too. Something you loved as a kid or something new but engrossing then don't let anyone else get their paws on it. That way you will push each other to find out what is going to happen next. One of the luxuries I had as a stay at home Mom was a couple of days when we got engrossed in a book and I read out loud all day. Heidi, The Little Lame Prince and Hans Brinker it seems to me all were approached nearly that way. Problem, I lost my voice and 2 nothing else got done. ZAZA
